Cookie within a brownie. A fusion of two delicious classics.

OREO is two crunchy chocolate cookies sandwiching a smooth cream filling — connecting the world through playfulness, one twist, lick, and dunk at a time.
Some cookies are just snacks. OREO? It's a 113-year plot twist that nobody saw coming — and the whole world keeps eating up.

It all started with a dare to be different. On March 6, 1912, the National Biscuit Company (Nabisco) created the very first OREO cookie at its legendary Chelsea factory on 9th Avenue, New York City. Sold in simple bulk tins at just $0.30 per pound in Hoboken, New Jersey, OREO was originally developed to meet the growing demand for an English-style biscuit popular at the time.
Here's the playful twist: OREO actually launched alongside two other products — the Goose Biscuit and Veronese Biscuit — marketed together as the "Trio." But consumers had other plans. OREO quickly outshone its companions and emerged as the undeniable star. Sometimes, the cookie chooses you.
By 1913, OREO was registered as an official Nabisco trademark — the beginning of what would become the world's best-selling cookie brand.

What makes OREO unlike any other cookie on the planet isn't just what's inside — it's how you eat it.
OREO never sat still. The brand evolved its identity across decades while staying true to its delicious core:

OREO arrived in Indonesia in the mid-1990s through Kraft Foods Indonesia (PT Kraft Indonesia), joining one of Southeast Asia's most vibrant snacking cultures. The timing was perfect — Indonesia's growing middle class was hungry for international quality, and OREO delivered.
A pivotal moment came in October 2012 when Kraft Foods' snacking division became Mondelez International. This transformation brought renewed investment in brand building, product innovation, and expanded distribution across Indonesia's vast archipelago of over 17,000 islands.
Today, OREO is proudly manufactured at the PT Mondelez Indonesia Manufacturing (MIM) facility in Bekasi, West Java — a world-class production hub that not only delivers fresh, high-quality cookies to Indonesian families from Sabang to Merauke, but also exports to more than 40 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

For the 87% of Indonesians who identify as Muslim, halal certification isn't a bonus — it's essential. OREO products in Indonesia carry official halal certification from BPJPH (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal). All ingredients, manufacturing processes, and supply chain handling comply fully with Islamic dietary law. This isn't just a label. It's OREO's commitment to respect, transparency, and trust for every Indonesian family.
From the classic that started it all to exciting new twists, OREO offers a diverse range of flavors and formats for Indonesian snacking moments:

Behind every cookie is a purpose. OREO's brand mission is simple yet powerful: "To connect the world through playfulness."
In Indonesia, this translates beautifully. Whether it's a family sharing OREO during buka puasa, friends challenging each other to the perfect dunk on TikTok, or a child learning the Twist, Lick, Dunk ritual for the very first time — OREO sparks those moments of genuine connection that make life a little lighter.
Because playfulness isn't just for kids. It's for everyone who refuses to let life get too serious.
